Morning

Burren Centre and Caherconnel Fort

Our exciting Clare Tour will begin with a visit to the Burren Centre in Kilfenora. This charming little village is a hive of activity with thousands of people visiting it every year. Here you can discover the history of the Burren Region and enjoy views over the unique Lunar limestone landscape which has its origins from an ancient glacial era. Hear about the history of the world famous Kilfenora Ceili Band and treat yourself to some tea and homemade scones in the cosy Tea Rooms.

We will then visit the historical Caherconnell Fort in Carron. Let your feet guide you along the pathways of the ancient Stone Fort taking in the views. Enjoy the sheep dog trials on view. This show displays the mastery of the local Shepherd and the skill of the Border Collie dogs as they herd the Sheep following only their master’s commands. Enjoy a quiet drink in Cassidy’s Pub in the quaint village of Carron.

Enjoy a tasty organic lunch in the Burren Perfumery Cafe. The perfumery which specialises in perfume and soaps are all produced from the unique local flora. Feel refreshed as you leave this iconic landscape inspired.

Doolin and Cliffs of Moher Tour

Visit the home of traditional music in the village of Doolin. Sip an Irish Whiskey in O'Connor's pub by a warm turf fire. Take in the view from Doolin pier to the Aran Islands.

Finish the afternoon with a visit to the Cliffs of Moher which is one of the most iconic locations in the West of Ireland along the Wild Atlantic Way. This natural wonder attracted 1.6 million visitors in 2019.

The Cliffs stretch for 14km/ 9 Miles and rise 120 meters above the Atlantic Ocean at Hags Head. 8km to the North the cliffs reach a height of 214 Meters/702ft North of O’ Brien’s Tower. Walk along the Cliff path and take in the spectacular views over Loophead.

The Cliffs of Moher has been the location of five very famous films. One of these was the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince movie which was filmed in 2009 here. Another film Ryan’s Daughter was filmed here back in the 1970s. Explore the Cliffs of Moher state of the art visitor centre.

The name Knappogue translates from the Irish as 'castle of the place abounding in little Hills'. This historic castle and lands were purchased in 1966 by Mark Edwin Andrews, the former Assistant Secretary of the United States Navy.

Nowadays Knappogue Castle hosts splendid Weddings, Medieval Banquets and offers guided tours.

Dinner in Old Ground Hotel and Music in Brogans Pub

Taste some excellent cuisine in the historic landmark Old Ground Hotel. This 18th century hotel is one of the most well known in Ireland for fine food and dining. In the 1940s local historian Bill Bluett made a film called “An tostal” which included footage of the 1st US coach tour arriving at the Old Ground Hotel.

After dinner stroll over to Brogans Pub to hear some of the best Clare Musicians playing in a seisíun of Irish music while you enjoy some local hospitality.
